CodeMark New Zealand Certificate Scheme
The CodeMark New Zealand Scheme is a building Product and System Certification managed by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE). The Scheme is enforced by the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ).
CodeMark Certification for your product and/or system means a guaranteed acceptance for the clauses on the certificate by the regulatory bodies and is a clear demonstration that your product meets mandatory compliance requirements and areas of the National Construction Code.
CodeMark Certification is based on the supply of test reports (from NATA or ILAC approved laboratories and testing facilities), manufacturing site audits, technical documentation, quality plan, installation site audit and on-going annual audits.
What is Required for a CodeMark Certification
In order to achieve a smooth CodeMark Certification you will need the following.
- The Product/System of the application has the relevant testing to the claimed BCA clauses.
Eg. If you are Claiming that your product/system complies with BCA fire clause(s) you will need a testing report from an accredited testing laboratory proving this.
Or If you are Claiming that your product/system complies with BCA structual clause(s) you will need a testing report from an accredited testing laboratory proving this.
- We require All test reports to be in English.
- We require a finalised installation manual though a final draft for the application is acceptable.
You will need to ensure that the construction composition used in your Product/System manual reflects the same construction composition used in your testing to prove compliance.
- You will need your own Product Quality Plan (PQP) for your Product/System, not your suppliers if your a distributor, that conforms to the requirements of ISO 10005. If you have a 9001 certification, this may be sufficient as it incorporates a product quality component. This will determined on application.
