Assessment
The WaterMark Administration advises it has reviewed a risk assessment submitted for the above mentioned product. The function of this product is to maintain the same pressure within a circulating hot water system to minimise excessive head pressure at the recirculating pump.
The WaterMark Administration verifies that the risk assessment for pressure differential bypass valve has identified risks requiring mitigation through the WaterMark Certification Scheme.
Outcome
The Risk Assessment identified the overall risk rating being high for the nominated health and safety, economic or water wastage consequences incidences. In accordance with the Manual for the WaterMark Certification Scheme, Appendix 3, Table D, any product with an overall risk rating of high requires WaterMark Certification.
Approved WaterMark Conformity Assessment Bodies will now need to evaluate these products to the most applicable specification. If the identified risks are unable to be satisfactorily addressed through an existing Specification, then a new, or amended Specification shall be proposed. A submission to the ABCB shall be undertaken in accordance with the Manual for the WaterMark Certification Scheme, Appendix 4, Protocol for Developing Product Specifications.

Assessment
The WaterMark Administration advises it has reviewed a risk assessment submitted for
the above mentioned product. The product is utilised for transferring heat from a primary
source to a secondary supply notably drinking water applications by utilising plates
interlocked and stacked to provide maximum heat transfer area.
The WaterMark Administration verifies that the risk assessment for the plate heat
exchanger has identified risks requiring mitigation through the WaterMark Certification
Scheme.
Outcome
The Risk Assessment identified the overall risk rating being medium for the nominated
health and safety consequences incidences. In accordance with the Manual for the
WaterMark Certification Scheme, Appendix 3, Table D, any product with an overall risk
rating of medium requires WaterMark Certification.

the above mentioned product. The product is a free standing or built-in fridge – freezer
incorporating an ice making function, with a connection to a mains water service. The
appliance is designed for domestic use and connected to a fixed water supply
connection ready for use.
The WaterMark Administration verifies that the risk assessment undertaken for these
types of products has identified risks that potentially require mitigation through the
WaterMark Certification Scheme.
Outcome
The Risk Assessment identified the overall risk rating being medium for the nominated
health and safety consequences incidences. In accordance with the Manual for the
WaterMark Certification Scheme, Appendix 3, Table D, any product with an overall risk
rating of medium shall require risk mitigation through the Scheme, except where to do
so would duplicate risk mitigation achieved through another nationally recognised
means.
The Administrating Body considers that the mandatory compliance to AS/NZS AS/NZS
60335.1 & AS/NZS 60335.2.24 through the Electrical Equipment Safety System
Registration satisfactorily mitigates the risks identified for this product.
Therfore the domestic fridge/freezer with ice making fucntion will be listed on the
Schedule of Excluded Products with compliance to AS/NZS 60335.1 & AS/NZS
60335.2.24 providing Evidence of Suitability for this product to be installed within a
plumbing and drainage system.
